What This Office Can Do
- Serves as a public watchdog over city agencies and investigates complaints from residents
- Introduces legislation in the City Council (but cannot vote on it)
- First in line to succeed the Mayor if the office becomes vacant
- Appoints a member of the City Planning Commission
